The catalyst for 'The Birth of Tragedy' was the birth of Angeline Jasmine Rouse on April 9th 2009. It is a tragedy that we are not born with knowledge of ourselves. It would save us all an awful lot of heartache.

A child is a tragedy waiting to happen.
Man is the tragedy in progress.
Dominic Rouse - The Artist's Journal, March 2007

"If he lived in the 17th century Dominic Rouse would have been one of the great Dutch Masters who maybe went unrecognized for a few centuries or was ostracized from the guild for the scandal of creating forbidden landscapes."  Iyesha van den Haak - Irvine, USA

Each printed is crafted by the artist using Fuji's Crystal Archive paper with a generous white border for matting and framing. Hand-signed in black ink, a numbered gallery stamp is printed on the back of each print. The title and copyright details are noted under the image and a signed Certificate of Print Authenticity is included.
